April has come and gone and it was another great month.

We will now review our Dividend Income from the Month of April:

Exciting news this month—our passive income continues to grow! It is up from January – which is mostly the same stocks due to quarterly dividends.

Like I’ve been saying, I had to sell some stocks for a home down payment. #We will recover!

Anyways…

It’s a perfect example of how dividends can provide a steady, reliable stream of cash flow, allowing us to earn money while we sleep.

This kind of passive income is exactly what we’re building towards, and seeing those payments roll in is a reminder of how powerful smart investing can be.

Let’s dive into the details of this month’s dividend report!

April is the second smallest Dividend Month to Date (but larger than January) which is typical for my portfolio for the JAN // APR // JUL // OCT months.

That being said, The portfolio currently has twelve (12) Stocks that pay dividends in April; Eleven (11) are quarterly payouts and one (1) is our monthly payout (Realty Capital – O).

January Dividends:

  1. Cisco Systems (CSCO) $8.20
  2. Coca-Cola (KO) $12.24
  3. Dollar General (DG) $5.90
  4. J.P. Morgan (JPM) $7.00
  5. Kimberly-Clarke (KMB) $12.60
  6. Leggett & Platt (LEG) $5.00
  7. McCormick & Co (MKC) $9.00
  8. Reality capital (O) $8.06
  9. Restaurant Brands International (QSR) $2.64
  10. Sysco Corp (SYY) $7.65
  11. Toronto-Dominano Bank (TD) $9.69
  12. Walmart (WMT) $5.88

That’s a total of $93.86 of completely passive income I received from just owning a piece of a company.

In perspective, that is DOWN over $80 from this same month last year. (See Below). Still recovering from that withdrawal from last year. But things are starting to recover.

To further expand on how amazing this makes me feel every month when I receive these checks, let me further expand on the yearly outlook.

I just made $93.86 this month from these twelve (12) dividend stocks. Over the course of a year, I will have earned an estimated total of $375.44 from these same 12 dividend stocks.

I say estimated because that assumes two factors do not change:

1. I don’t change my holdings; either by selling (which I rarely do) or adding to my position (which I probably will).

 2. The dividend stocks themselves don’t raise or lower their dividend payout (which they probably will).

Most of these companies have a long history of increasing their payout year after year if only to keep up with inflation. I tend to average around 1.5% to 2% dividend raise per year.

With that assumption, I would be at between $95 – $96 next year if I did nothing but watch my money tree grow!

Stock Sale & Purchases for April:

I also made Eleven (11) stock purchases in April: This is probably the most stocks I’ve purchased in a single month since COVID (MAR/APR 2020). But when the deals are good – you have to BUY!

  1. JNJ – 2 Shares
  2. PSA – 1 Share
  3. SWK – 5 Shares
  4. TGT – 3 Shares
  5. DE – 1 Share
  6. CAT – 1 Share
  7. TXN – 1 Share
  8. BN – 1 Share
  9. MAIN – 1 Share
  10. AWR – 1 Share
  11. HRL – 1 Share

9 of the 11 stocks are new to the portfolio which bring my total to 66 Individual Dividend Stocks.

Added Income to the Portfolio: $61.40- Annual

That is about a 3% increase to my yearly dividend income I’ve added in just one month!

Overall, I was pleased with the new purchases I made in April and locking in some great deals due to market volatility. I am looking to continue to build upon my lower stocks in the portfolio over the next 4-6 months.

Additionally, AEP, UNP, NSC, and MSFT are all on my watchlist for short-term initiating.

Looking ahead and my Yearly Progress:

My Goal for 2025 is to recover from my sales in 2024 and get back on track. I am aiming for $2,300 in Dividend Income. – No change!

Currently, If I add no additional funds I will earn $2,200 over the next year. So, I am short $100 #Keepgoing!

2025 was supposed to be the year I hit $3,000 in dividends. However, due to moving and purchasing another house – #militarylife. things changed.

Consistency and discipline will be the key to getting back on track and regaining my lost dividends.
